Mary's Shelter is an independent, faith-based non-profit California Corporation with Tax ID #33-0203768. More than 85% of donated funds are used directly for the care of pregnant teens and their babies.
In addition to government subsidies, Mary's Shelter needs an average of $65,000 per month in private donations to sustain this program that changes lives of both mother and child for a lifetime. The majority of expenses are for wages and benefits for the trained employees who care for teen mothers and babies on a 24/7 basis.
Examples of other monthly expenses are:
- $5,500 Groceries and baby supplies
- $1,800 Utilities
- $1,500 To operate our four shelter vehicles
- $1,300 Allowances and weekend activities
- $ 500 Girls clothing needs
